Reactive dyeing is one of the dyeing methods for our company’s ramie yarn. For understanding, reactive dyeing refers to the process of dyeing yarns with reactive dyes. With this tech, reactive dyeing imparts ramie yarn with vivid colors, excellent wash and light fastness, and uniform dye penetration.
Pros: Colors are very bright and resist washing well due to strong covalent bonds. Many color choices exist, and the process is simple and low-cost. It works better for ramie than some dyes (e.g., direct dyes), giving even shades for light/medium colors.
Cons: High Tech Difficulty. Uneven dyeing may occur without mature tech.
Blending ramie with other fibers can add its softness, flexibility, and drape. For example, blending ramie with cotton can increase luster and strength. Blend ramie with polyester can achieve anti-wrinkle functions. Blend ramie with wool can lightweight winter garments.
